Livestock auctions, crop sales
The following are results from recent livestock auctions and crop sales held in the region.
Results from the Eighty Four Livestock Auction, Eighty Four, were:
Slaughter cows traded mostly steady with good demand. Supply included 104 slaughter cows, seven slaughter bulls, and 98 feeder cattle. All prices per hundredweight.
Slaughter cattle
Slaughter steers: No. test. Slaughter Holstein steers: Choice 2 to 3 1,370 to 1,445 pounds, 99 to 103. Slaughter heifers: Select 1 to 2 1,200 to 1,265 pounds, 116 to 121.
Slaughter cows: Premium whites, 65 to 75 percent lean, 90 to 91.50, average dressing and 96 high dressing. Breakers, 75 to 80 percent lean, 87 to 89.50 average dressing and 84 to 86 high dressing. Boners 80 to 85 percent lean, 82 to 86 average dressing and 78.50 low dressing. Lean 85 to 90 percent lean, 73.50 to 78.50 average dressing, 79 to 81 high dressing and 68.50 to 73 low dressing. Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 1,480 to 1,760 pounds, 93 to 101. Yield grade 2 1,520 to 2,360 pounds, 88 to 90.
Feeder cattle
Steers: Medium and large 1 300 pounds, 190; 500 pounds, 167. Medium and large 2 400 to 500 pounds, 137.50 to 150. Heifers: Medium and large 1 300 to 500 pounds, 150 to 162.50; 500 to 700 pounds, 140 to 152.50; 700 to 900 pounds, 112 to 129. Medium and large 2 300 to 500 pounds, 125 to 152.50; 500 to 700 pounds, 115 to 120. Bulls: Medium and Large 1 300 to 400 pounds, 197.50 to 200; 400 to 500 pounds, 165 to 190; 500 to 700 pounds, 145 to 157.50; 700 pounds, 123. Medium and large 2 142.50 to 162.50; 500 to 700 pounds, 142.50 to 143.
Feeder calves
Holstein bulls traded mostly 15 higher.
No. 1 Holstein bulls 90 to 120 pounds, 190 to 212.50. No. 2 Holstein bulls 90 to 130 pounds,
150 to 185. No. 3 Holstein bulls 85 to 120 pounds, 87.50 to 140. Holstein heifers: No. 1: 90 pounds, 215. Beef calves: 70 to 190 pounds, 135 to 200. Vealers: Utility 65 to 120 pounds, 50 to 80, few 100 to 105.
Slaughter hogs
Barrows and Gilts: 45 to 50 percent lean 200 to 220 pounds, 80 to 81. 40 to 45 percent lean 230 to 240 pounds, 72 to 73. Sows: US 1 to 3 400 pounds, 64. Boars: No test. Feeder Pigs: No test.
Slaughter sheep
Slaughter lambs: No test. Slaughter yearlings: No test. Slaughter ewes: Utility 1 to 2 160 pounds, 63. Slaughter goats: Sold per head, unless otherwise. No test. Slaughter kids: Selection 1 90 pounds, 140, Selection 2 35 pounds, 31. Slaughter nannies: Selection 2 65 pounds, 87.50, 110 pounds, 74 per hundredweight. Selection 3 80 pounds, 77.50. Slaughter billies: No test. Slaughter whethers: No test.

Cattle
Stock cows: 52.50 to 95. Slaughter cows: Utility and commercial, 70 to 92.50; boner and boning utility, 50 to 81; cutter and boning utility, 48 to 75; canner and low cutter, 51 to 78. Bulls: Yield grade 1 1,500 to 2,000 pounds, 84 to 94; yield grade 2, 1,000 to 1,400 pounds, 78 to 97. Feeder steers: Medium and light, 1, 250 to 280 pounds, 100 to 194; 300 to 500 pounds, 100 to 186; 600 to 900 pounds, 90 to 138; heifers, medium and light 1, 300 to 500 pounds, 90 to 170; light 1, 400 to 650 pounds, 80 to 140; bulls medium and light, 1, 300 to 620 pounds, 80 to 145.
Calves
Veal, prime, 80 to 135; choice, 60 to 95; good, 40 to 55. Farm calves: No. 1 Holstein bulls, 90 to 120 pounds, few, 35 to 80; No. 2 Holstein bulls, 15 to 55; beef — bull and heifers/head, 50 to 110.
Hogs
Barrows and gilts, 1 to 2, 210 to 255 pounds, 60 to 84; 2 to 3, 255 to 280 pounds, 40 to 81; sows 1 to 3, 300 to 500 pounds, 30 to 80. Feeder pigs, 1 to 3, 15 to 20 pounds, 10 to 21 per head; 1 to 3, 25 to 35 pounds, 15 to 34 per head.
Lambs
High choice, 80 to 100 pounds, 180 to 247.50; choice, 40 to 75 pounds, 80 to 203; feeder lambs, good, 85 to 200. Sheep, 25 to 90; fat sheep, 33 to 90. Goats, large, 65 to 200 per head; medium, 50 to 150 per head; small, 5 to 50 per head.
