Charge dismissed against Uniontown woman

A single charge for child endangerment was dismissed Tuesday against a Uniontown mother accused of allegedly allowing her young son to leave her home and wander around unattended Jan. 7.

Uniontown police Officer Travis Shandor said Sherry Ann Funk, 37, of Apartment 306, 155 N. Gallatin Ave., was charged by Magisterial District Judge Michael M. Metros with a single count of endangering the welfare of a child.

However Metros dismissed the charge during a preliminary hearing because the incident did not represent criminal wrongdoing.
