FC Commissioners to enact Marcellus shale impact fee

1 min read

The Fayette County commissioners Tuesday took action that will lead to the county receiving proceeds from a state-imposed impact fee relating to Marcellus shale natural gas drilling.

Commissioners Vincent Zapotosky and Angela M. Zimmerlink approved a motion to place an item on Tuesday’s agenda to enact the impact fee relating the state legislation passed last month. Commission Chairman Al Ambrosini was absent.

After the meeting, Zimmerlink said if the commissioners don’t enact the fee, counties cannot receive any of the revenue from the proceeds of it.
