Dickerson Run man waives child porn charges
A Dickerson Run man will stand trial for allegedly disseminating child pornography.
State police charged John Joseph Minnick, 64, of 224 Water St. before Magisterial District Judge Dwight K. Shaner with a single count of disseminating a photo or film of child sex acts following an undercover investigation by the state police computer crime unit.
Shaner held the single charge against Minnick for Fayette County Court following a preliminary hearing Tuesday.
In December 2010, undercover officers found an eight-second video file featuring a girl estimated to be 13 years old engaging in a sexual act. Police said they were able to trace the video to Minnick, who admitted to officers that he downloaded the file.
Minnick remains free on $20,000 straight cash bond.
