North Union Township supervisors approve storm water agreements
The North Union Township supervisors on Tuesday approved agreements that require two businesses to maintain their storm water systems.
Supervisors approved storm water maintenance agreements with Texas Specialty Sands and Tri Star Motors Nissan, which is opening on Superior Way.
The agreements require the businesses to perform general maintenance on their storm water systems and clean them if they become clogged, Supervisor Curtis Matthews said.
In unrelated business, the supervisors commended Donovan DeAngelo, a student at Laurel Highland High School, for sprucing up Eberly Park for his Eagle Scout project.
“It was a very good project. It’s real professional, straight, square,” Supervisor Robert Tupta said.
DeAngelo said he and some helpers spent 223 hours planting trees and shrubs and installing a new sign.
“Hopefully everything we planted lives,” DeAngelo said.
In a separate matter, supervisors said the contractor building the recreation center on Commonwealth Drive is supposed to be finished on April 20.
Supervisors said they haven’t decided whether to charge residents to use the facility and a recreation board will be created to run it.
Residents will be given cards that have to be swiped to enter the weight lifting room and the building’s temperature can be remotely controlled, supervisors said.
In other business, the supervisors:
