Raymond B. Stringer, 77, of Roscoe, Pa., died Wednesday, March 14, 2012.

He was born Thursday, February 28, 1935, in Charleroi, Pa., a son of the late Frank and Mildred (Mattis) Stringer.

Ray was retired from California University of PA where his was the foreman of the painting crew. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

In addition to his parents Ray was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Stringer.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Virginia Stringer; son, Barry Stringer and wife Jamie; three grandchildren, Justin Stringer, Kara Dulaney and husband T.J., and Albert Seghi. Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Louise Stringer, Diane Bonde and husband Larry and Darlene Koci, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME, INC., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California PA on Thursday, March 15, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and until 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 16, 2012, when funeral services will be held in the funeral home with Rev. Candace Cook officiating.

Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park.
