Joseph T. Smith
Joseph T. Smith, age 68 of Uniontown, Pa. passed away on Tuesday March 20, 2012 after a year long battle with cancer.
He was born on June 27, 1943 in Grindstone, Pa., a son of Stephen and Margaret (Stefan) Smith.
Joseph was a member of St. Mary’s (Nativity) Catholic Church, a spokesman for C O R E Center of Organ Recovery a n d Education. He was a heart transplant recipient.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Stephen Smith and Thomas Smith and a sister Bertha Stratton.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Donna L. (Marmol) Smith; children: Joseph Smith and wife Tanya, Sandra Petruzzi and husband Matthew, Shelly Mahoney and husband Philip Jr.; grand-children: Sydney Smith, Ethan Smith, Matthew Petruzzi Jr., Domenic Petruzzi, Evan Mahoney and Aiden Mahoney. He is also survived by his sisters: Sophia Miller and Dolores Pappas, sisters in-law Agnes Smith and Irene Smith and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC. 603 North Gallatin Avenue Ext., Uniontown, Pa. Thursday, March 22, 2012 from 4 to 9 p.m., and on Friday, March 23, 2012 until 9:30 a.m. when prayers of transfer will be said.
A Mass of Christian burial will follow in St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Stephen R. Bugay as Celebrant.
A Parish Wake Service will be held Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
Interment will follow in Mt. Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
