Zoning board approves Belle Vernon business plans
The Fayette County Zoning Hearing Board Wednesday granted a variance from setback requirements that will allow a Belle Vernon business to expand.
Brent A. Smith, owner of Maccabee Industrial Inc. of Water Street, is seeking to expand the manufacturing business.
Attorney Anthony Dedola said Smith bought additional property in January 2010 and is looking to building three new buildings.
Jason Artis of Fayette Engineering said the company currently has 56 employees. He said plans are to construct new buildings on the M-1, light manufacturing zoned property to use for steel manufacturing.
Smith said the business manufactures steel products and makes pre-cast concrete products, as well as dealing with cell towers and construction fabrication.
