Police charge two with theft
State police said two Cardale residents used a child as a lookout when they stole DVDs from the Walmart in South Union Township.
Ronald Boyer, 29, and Melissa Hopwood, 36, are each charged with corruption of minors and disorderly conduct. Also, Boyer is charged with retail theft, and Hopwood with criminal conspiracy to commit retail theft and harassment.
Trooper Jason Hatalsky alleged that Boyer unwrapped the DVDs and concealed them before running from the store.
He was caught a short time later.
Hopwood was with him in the store, police alleged, and had her son act as a lookout during the theft.
Police also alleged that Hopwood slapped a security guard at store who was trying to get information from her during the March 16 incident.
