A Brownsville accused of possessing a large cache of heroin last month will stand trial.

Brownsville police said Justin Ray Miller, 28, was charged before Magisterial District Judge Mike Defino Jr. with possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident on Feb. 22.

Miller waived all charges against him to Fayette County Court during a preliminary hearing held before Defino on Monday.

Police said the drugs were found as officers assisted state parole officers at a residence in Brownsville. Officers said they found Miller in possession of six bricks of heroin.

There are normally 50 stamp bags in a brick of heroin and stamp bags sell on the street for $10 to $20, according officers in the Fayette County Drug Task Force.

Police said the heroin recovered would be worth about $6,000 on the street.

When officers served a warrant for Miller’s arrest in the days after the heroin discovery, police said they found him in possession of additional illegal drugs.

Miller remains in Fayette County Prison on $75,000 straight cash bond.
