Archbishop to celebrate Easter Vigil in Uniontown
The Most Rev. Robert Duncan, archbishop of the Anglican Church in North America and bishop of Pittsburgh, will celebrate Easter Vigil at St. Peter’s Anglican Church in Uniontown. The service will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 7 at the church, located at 60 Morgantown St.
The Rev. John Cruikshank, pastor of St. Peter’s, explained the bishop pays an annual visit to the Uniontown congregation but this is a special visit. He said Duncan has decided to begin celebrating Easter Virgil services in churches around the Pittsburgh diocese and chose St. Peter’s for his first service.
“It’s such a privilege,” said Cruikshank. “How often can you have a bishop at Easter? And for him to have chosen St. Peter’s as his first is such a privilege for this congregation. I love every time he comes. It’s a boost to our members.”
