Point Marion comes together for public art project

1 min read

Tables on the second floor of the Klein Building in Point Marion were spread with paper, cutting tools and pieces of colored glass as area residents gathered together to create works of art.

For several weeks, the residents have been coming to workshops led by artist Debbie Palmer to create glass designs on leaf-shaped wood that will become part of a larger glass-and-ceramic mosaic scheduled for installation on the exterior of the Sadler Building this summer.

“I’m excited about it. I think it’s a way to bring the town together,” said Lisa Jordan, who owns the Klein Building with her husband, Dave, and is a member of the public art project committee. “We are going to beautify Point Marion.”

“Everybody will spot that when they come into Point Marion,” said Joyce Dills. “It shows we’re interested in our town.”
