Ruth Elinor ‘Ellie’ (Newcomer) Minko
Ruth Elinor ‘Ellie’ (Newcomer) Minko, 68 of Irwin, Pa, died Monday, April 30, 2012 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. She was born May 5, 1943 in Uniontown, a daughter of the late James Carmen II and Genevieve (Brundige) Newcomer.
She was a retired registered nurse for Select Specialty Hospital and formerly for Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church, Herminie.
Surviving are her husband Albert Joseph Minko; sons: Michael Minko of Ruffsdale, Stephen J. (Tracy) Minko of North Huntingdon and Peter J. Minko of New Holland; grandchildren: Alyssa Minko and Dylan Kitchen; siblings: James C. (Bonnie) Newcomer, III of Uniontown, Janie (Keith) King of Mill Run and Marjorie (the late Donald) Daniels of Uniontown; also aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday) and 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724.863.1200, where a Blessing Service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday with Rev. John J. Harrold officiating.
Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, North Huntingdon.
