Supervisors discuss improvement projects

By Josh Krysak heraldstandard.Com 1 min read

South Union Township supervisors said Wednesday that they received federal grants they will use to undertake three projects this year to bring about improvements to various areas in the municipality.

Supervisor Thomas Frankhouser said the township received $129,957 in Community Development Block Grants, which are distributed annually to municipalities for improvement projects in low to moderate income areas.

While noting that the grant money was substantially lower than the $163,274 CDBG received by the township in 2011, Frankhouser outlined several projects the supervisors plan to tackle this year with the new grant.
