Uniontown police said they filed two citations against a homeless man after he was caught eating food from patron’s tables inside a Uniontown restaurant Saturday night.

Officer D.J. Dewitt said Thomas Eugene Mickey, 55, was cited with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness after he and Officer Michael Bittner had to forcibly remove an intoxicated Mickey from Meloni’s Restaurant on Main Street.

Dewitt said after police were summoned to the eatery after Mickey refused to comply with orders from owner Larry Georgiana to leave the restaurant.

He said when officers arrived they found Mickey eating food from tables inside the restaurant after apparently just wandering into the restaurant from the street.

Dewitt said after Mickey declined to leave the restaurant and continued to eat other people’s food, Bittner reached to help Mickey to stand up but said he pulled away and became combative.

Officers were able to force Mickey into a hallway and take him into custody without further incident.
