Harold K. ‘Jack’ White
Harold K. ‘Jack’ White, 85, of Clarksville, passed away peacefully at Washington Hospital with family at his side, on May 1, 2012.
Jack was born March 29, 1927, son of the late Arthur and Verdie White. For sixty years, he was the loving husband of Genieve White, who died February 26, 2011.
Harold, who was known affectionately as ‘Jack’ by family and friends, was a heavy equipment operator, and had been a hydraulic repairman when he retired from Ford Motor Co. in Ohio. Following his retirement he moved back to this area.
Mr. White was a WWII veteran and served in the U.S. Army. He was a life member of the VFW, and a member of American Legion Hanson-Cole Post 391, Fredericktown. He was an active contributor to the Humane Society of Greene County. He served on Greene County’s Board of Elections for numerous years. Jack was active at local hospitals for laryngeal cancer survivors, offering guidance and support through his own experience.
Mr. White is survived by the following children: son, Kenneth White of Tallmadge, Ohio; daughter, Jackie Harper of Fort Meyers, Fla.; grandchildren Jill (Greg) Farkas, Scott Harper and Adam White, all of Ohio; great-grandchildren, Quinn Rose, and Ivy Elizabeth Farkas; brother, Holbert White; sister, Dorothy Jackson; Margaret White , who is like a daughter; a multitude of friends and relatives and his faithful, best friend Rags, his dog.

Friends will be received at the FRANK BURKUS FUNERAL HOME, 2 6 Mill Street, Millsboro, Pa. 15348, Friday, May 4, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 until 11 a.m., the time of service with the Rev. Jim Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Greene County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of Greene County, 183 Jefferson Rd., Waynesburg, Pa. 15370.
