Touchstone hosting hammer-in this weekend
Touchstone Center for Crafts in Farmington will celebrate its Fourth Annual Jim Campbell Hammer-In from 8 a.m. Saturday to 4 p.m. Sunday.
The celebration of all things blacksmithing honors Campbell, a Uniontown resident and longtime Touchstone volunteer.
The event will take place in Hart Moore Blacksmith Studio with demonstrations in the art and craft of working hot steel.
For this year, Touchstone has invited experienced ferriers and blacksmiths Richard Becker and Bob Parks to demonstrate. Both represent more than 65 years of experience at the forge, and are highly accomplished in the field.
Becker is a three-time member of the American Farriers Forging Team, an American Farriers Association contest judge and placed third in world champion blacksmith competition. Parks also is a three-time member of the American Farriers Association Forging Team, competed in specialty forging competitions and is a lecture for the Mid-Eastern Farriers Association.
Programming for the weekend also will include artist lectures, music, food and tool vendors.
Participants can register for the weekend or for Saturday only or Sunday only by calling 724-329-1370 or online at www.touchstonecrafts.org.
