Results from recent livestock auctions and crop sales held in the region are as follows:

Results for the Waynesburg Livestock Auction from May 3 were as follows:

Cattle

Stock cows: 52.50 to 108. Slaughter cows: Utility and commercial, 90 to 104; boner and boning utility, 70 to 92; cutter and boning utility, 71 to 84; canner and low cutter, 61 to 78. Bulls: Yield grade 1 1,500 to 2,000 pounds, 90 to 109; yield grade 2, 1,000 to 1,400 pounds, 78 to 115. Feeder steers: Medium and light, 1, 250 to 280 pounds, 100 to 204; 300 to 500 pounds, 100 to 186; 600 to 900 pounds, 90 to 138; heifers, medium and light 1, 300 to 500 pounds, 90 to 162; light 1, 400 to 650 pounds, 80 to 140; bulls medium and light, 1, 300 to 620 pounds, 80 to 188.

Calves

Veal, prime, 80 to 130; choice, 60 to 95; good, 40 to 55. Farm calves: No. 1 Holstein bulls, 90 to 120 pounds, few, 35 to 105; No. 2 Holstein bulls, 15 to 55; beef to to bull and heifers/head, 50 to 200.

Hogs

Barrows and gilts, 1 to 2, 210 to 255 pounds, 60 to 75; 2 to 3, 255 to 280 pounds, 40 to 81; sows 1 to 3, 300 to 500 pounds, 30 to 60. Feeder pigs, 1 to 3, 15 to 20 pounds, 10 to 21 per head; 1 to 3, 25 to 35 pounds, 15 to 34 per head.

Lambs

High choice, 80 to 100 pounds, 180 to 220; choice, 40 to 75 pounds, 80 to 250; feeder lambs, good, 85 to 190. Sheep, 25 to 90; fat sheep, 33 to 90. Goats, large, 65 to 200 per head; medium, 50 to 150 per head; small, 5 to 50 per head.

The following are results from the Eighty Four Livestock Auction, Eighty Four, April 30:

Compared to last week’s sale, slaughter cows sold mostly .50 to 1 higher with good demand. Supply included 105 cows, five bulls and 143 feeders. Prices per hundredweight.

Slaughter Steers: Select 1 to 2 1065 to 1250 pounds, 101 to 103. Slaughter Holstein Steers: Choice 2 to 3 1255 to 1390 pounds, 99.50 to 106. Slaughter Heifers: Select 1 to 2 985 to 1140 pounds, 107 to 114.

Slaughter cows

Premium whites, 65 to 75 percent lean, 98 average dressing; breakers, 75 to 80 percent lean, 91 to 95 average dressing and 85.50 low dressing; boners, 80 to 85 percent lean, 84 to 89 average dressing, 90 to 91 high dressing and 80 to 83 low dressing; lean, 85 to 90 percent lean, 74 to 81 average dressing, 82 to 83 high dressing and 70 to 74 low dressing.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 1,010 to 2,025 pounds, 98 to 103, high dressing 108.50. Yield grade 2 1,425 to 1,855 pounds, 95 to 97.50.

Feeder cattle

Steers: Medium and large 1 300 to 400 pounds, 175; 500 to 700 pounds, 142.50 to 157.50. Medium and large 2 300 to 400 pounds, 145. Medium and large 3 600 pounds, 94. Beef Type: 80 to 200 pounds, 140 to 225. Holstein Heifers: Number 1: 80 to 95 pounds, 190 to 225. Number 2: 75 to 80 pounds, 130 to 170.

Slaughter hogs

Barrows and Gilts: No test. Sows: US 1 to 3 400 to 500 pounds, 41. Boars: 780 pounds, 12. Feeder pigs: No test.

Slaughter sheep
