SCI-Greene inmate’s death reported
The Greene County coroner’s office and state police are conducting an investigation into the death of an inmate at the State Correctional Institution at Greene.
SCI-Greene Superintendent Louis S. Folino identified the inmate as Jon Yount, 74. Yount was found unresponsive in his cell about 6:20 a.m. April 26. Corrections officers and medical staff immediately provided emergency first aid. Yount was later pronounced dead.
Yount was serving a life sentence for first-degree murder in Clearfield County. He had been incarcerated at SCI-Greene since November 2004.
