Victor Horak
Victor Horak, age 92, former resident of Messmore Road, McClellandtown, Pa., passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2012 in Hillside Manor Personal Care Home, Uniontown.
He was born on November 1, 1919 in Denbo, Pa., the son of Frank Horak and Mary (Valusuk) Horak.
Victor was a member of All Saints Roman Catholic Church in Masontown, Pa.
He retired from J&L Steel’s Bobtown Mine and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America (UMWA).
Mr. Horak was a Charter Member of the Messmore Rod and Gun Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mildred (Check) Horak; a sister, Valsie Wydo; nephew, Charles Wydo.
Surviving are great-nieces: Charla Acker, Gettysburg, Pa., and Sue Kalain of Willoughby Hills, Ohio; niece, Janet Wydo of Ohio; and dearest friends, Darlene and Joseph Azzardi of Uniontown, Pa.
A very special Thank You is extended to the staff of the Hillside Manor Personal Care Home, VIA Quest Hospice, and Dr. Riad Saradar.
Friends will be received in the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME INC., 20 North Mill Street, New Salem, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday, May 7, 2012 until 9:15 a.m. when Prayers will be said.
A Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. in All Saints Church, Masontown, with Rev. Father John A. Bauer as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Hopwood.
