John Edward Rura, Sr.
John Edward Rura, Sr., 65, of Masontown, Pa., passed away at home, May 10, 2012, with his family by his side.
He was born in Uniontown, Pa. on December 31, 1946, the son of the late Raymond and Mary (Stunja) Rura.
He was a graduate of Albert Gallatin High School, Class of 1964 and was employed as a Cement Mason, Local 526, Pittsburgh, Pa.
John was a member of All Saints R.C. Church, Masontown, Pa and the Masontown Fish and Game Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Vincent Rura and brother, Donald Rura.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Linda (Posten) Rura; son, John Rura, Jr. and wife Debbie, Ronco, Pa. and daughter, Jacqueline Rura, Masontown, Pa.; grandchildren, George Anthony Rura, Toni Lynn Rura, John Edward Rura III, Stephen Vincent Rura, Jr. and Andrew William Rura; great-grandson, George Anthony Rura, Jr.; brothers, Ronald Rura and Raymond R. Rura and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, Corner of Church and 7 River Avenue, Masontown, Pa., Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday until 9:30 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held in the funeral home chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. in All Saints R.C. Church, Masontown, Pa. with the Rev. Father John M. Butler as Celebrant.
Interment at St. Agnes Cemetery, Masontown, PA.
Parish Wake Service will be held in the funeral home on Sunday at 3 p.m.
