Early morning shooting at Pershing Court
An unidentified man was shot in the head this morning in Pershing Court, Uniontown police said.
Capt. David J. Rutter said officers were summoned to the housing complex before 6 a.m. for a report of shots fired.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim laying in the street suffering a gunshot wound to the head.
He was immediately taken from the scene by Uniontown Firemen’s Ambulance to Uniontown Hospital.
An update on his condition was not available.
Officers said the man was found clutching a single rose and a greeting card when they arrived.
Rutter said multiple “persons of interest” are in police custody for further questioning regarding the incident.
The state police Records and Identification Unit remains at the scene at this hour collecting evidence.
