James K. Brozik Sr.
James K. Brozik Sr., age 89, of Dilliner, (Bald Hill), Pa, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012 at his home.
Born October 22, 1922 in New Salem, Pa., he was the son of the late Thomas Brozik and Helen (Brinsko) Brozik.
A United States Army veteran of World War II, he was a coal miner, retired after 42 years from J & L Steel’s Shannopin Mine in Bobtown.
He was a member of the U.M.W.A. Local 6159, Mount Morris American Legion, the Bobtown Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Bobtown Senior Citizens where he delivered Meals on Wheels.
‘Jim’ was a faithful member of Bald Hill United Methodist Church where he was Sunday School Superintendent and a Teacher for many years.
In his retirement, he was very active with area veterans posts and was honored to serve as Chaplain for the Military Funeral Detail for many of his fellow veterans.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Angie (Huddleston) Brozik; a son, James K. Brozik Jr. and his wife Patricia of Boardman, Ohio; a grand daughter, Kayleigh Brozik of Anchorage, Alaska; a sister, Mrs. Richard (Helen) Gabler of Bobtown; and many friends.
Deceased are a son, Kevin J. Brozik in 2001; and four brothers, Tom Jr., Gene, Frank, and Max Brozik.
Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, P o i n t Marion, on Monday from 3 to 6 p.m. and on Tuesday, May 15, from 10 until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Rev. Gale Cobb officiating.
Interment will follow in Wolf’s Cemetery, Dilliner, with Military Rites accorded at the graveside. www.herod-rishel.com
