Virginia M. (McKlveen) Helmick
Virginia M. (McKlveen) Helmick, 86, Smithfield, Pa., went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 10, 2012.
She was born on July 30, 1925 in Latrobe, Pa., the daughter of William McKlveen and Anna (Poche) McKlveen.
Virginia was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church in Old Frame, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of forty-four years, Clarence Playford Helmick; sisters and brothers, Elsie Friedline, Ruth Klinger, Berniece Friedline, Willa Krus Carol Leftwich, Oliver “Bud” McKlveen and William McKlveen.
Surviving are her children: Mary Ann Jensen, Smithfield, Clarence Duane Helmick and wife Debbie of Kearneysville, West Virginia, Cyndee Burack and husband Charles of Greensboro, Pa.; seven grand children; seven great-grand children; two sisters: Charlotte Cunningham of Nashville, Tennessee, Eleanor Helmick, Ravenna, Ohio; and a brother, Charles McKlveen of Bay City, Texas.
The family received friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. on Friday from 4 to 9 p.m.
Additional visitation and viewing was held in OAK HILL BAPTIST CHURCH, Old Frame, Pa., on Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m. The Funeral Service began at 11:30 a.m. The Rev. Alvie L. Edwards officiated. Private interment was in Masontown (Pa.) Cemetery.
