Fire damages home in South Union

Firefighters remained on the scene of a fire late Wednesday that heavily damaged a home in South Union Township.

No one was home at 338 Derrick Avenue when smoke and flames shot through the roof, according to the homeowner, Jennifer Hardin.

Hardin said she, husband Warren and two sons live in the home located at the corner of Derrick Avenue and Grace Lane. She said neighbors alerted them to smoke coming from the roof.
