Margaret Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Herman, a g e 92, of Connellsville died Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at her home. S h e w a s born June 2 1, 1 9 1 9 in Connells v i l l e, a daughter of the late Michael and Caroline Taylor Flanigan.

‘Betty’ was a 1937 graduate of Connellsville High School. She was the secretary of the A.L. Herman Lumber Co., the family lumber business.

She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church of Connellsville and its Christian Mothers.

She is survived by ten children: Albert ‘Buddy’ Herman, Jr. and his wife, Sandy (May) Herman of Connellsville, Barbara Herman Knight and her husband, Marvin Knight, of Dawson, Ronald Herman and his wife, Mary Ann (Patrick), Herman of Connellsville, Carolyn H e r m a n Cochrane of Hollywood, Fla., William ‘Bill’ Herman and his wife, Ellen (VanNosdeln), Herman of Connellsville, Rick Herman and his wife, Debbie (Conlon) Herman of Vero Beach, Fla., Thomas Herman and his wife Pam (Karwatsky), Herman of Connellsville, David Herman and his wife, C o l l e e n (Carbonara), Herman of Katy, Texas, Larry Herman and his wife, Martina (Smarto), Herman of Connellsville and Jeff Herman and his wife Tricia (Connell), Herman of Connellsville; 38 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and one brother, P a t r i c k Flanigan and his wife, June, of Tampa, Fla.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Albert L. ‘Bo’ Herman in 2007 and infant daughter Mary Herman; two great-grandchildren, Jessica Lyn Rankin and Owen Hunter Smith; one brother, Joseph Flanigan and two sisters, Marie Breen and Helen Behm.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 9 p.m. Friday in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville where a Blessing Service will be held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, Connellsville with the Rev. Robert Lubic as celebrant. Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville.
