Uniontown man to stand trial in sex assault
A Uniontown man accused of sexually assaulting a woman in March will stand trial.
Uniontown police Officer Jonathan Grabiak said David Ronald Hixenbaugh, 47, was charged before Magisterial District Judge Michael M. Metros with aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault and unlawful restraint.
Metros held all charges against Hixenbaugh for Fayette County Court following a preliminary hearing Tuesday.
The alleged victim testified that she was helping Hixenbaugh, whom she said was intoxicated, home from a local bar and he invited her inside his apartment around 1 a.m. March 15. Once inside, she told Assistant District Attorney J.W. Eddy that Hixenbaugh forced her onto a bed and sexually assaulted her.
She testified that she was able to break free from Hixenbaugh and fled the residence.
Outside the apartment, she spotted a nearby police car and reported the incident.
Grabiak testified that Hixenbaugh was found inside the apartment and taken into custody without incident.
HeraldStandard.com does not identify the victims of alleged sexual assault.
Hixenbaugh remains free after posting bond.
