William D. ‘Mr. Bill’ Reckner, Sr.
William D. ‘Mr. Bill’ Reckner, Sr., age 62, of Uledi, Pa., passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 13, 2012, at Uniontown Hospital, with his loving family by his side. William was born in East Liverpool, Ohio on August 9,1950
William was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lamoon Reckner; three brothers: Clifford Reckner, Bobby Reckner and Richard Reckner and his beloved dog Angel.
William was a member of Vietnam Veterans, Inc. of Fayette County and the AMVETS Post 103.
He was hard working and well respected by all.
William loved his job as a school bus driver where he took Head Start children to school. In 1995 William heroically rescued an 18 month old girl named Natascha Lynn Gemas when her home caught fire in Footedale, Pa.
William is survived by his three children: Susie Reckner of New Salem, Pa., William D. Reckner Jr. of Uledi, Pa., and Clifford D. Reckner and wife Jessica of Mt. Pleasant, Pa.; e i g h t grandchildren: Samantha, Vincent Jr., Corey, Shaina, Novalee, Audrey, Lacey, and Little Billy III; one brother, Thomas Reckner; and three sisters, Betty Mosco, Mary Hoffman, and Wilma Moore.
Friends will be r e c e i v e d in STEPHEN R. H A K Y FUNERAL HOME, INC., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA., on Thursday, May 17 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday, May 18, 2012 until 11 a.m., the Hour of Service with Pastor Buzz Hall officiating.
Military honors accorded by AMVETS Post 103.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to William’s daughter, Susie Reckner.
