Frank John Lucas
Frank John Lucas, age 82, of Ridgeland, South Carolina and formerly of Charleroi, Pa., went to be with our Lord on Sunday, May 13, 2012 a t h o m e surrounded by family.
He was born the son of Frank and Stephanie Lucas on Sunday, July 14, 1929 in Charleroi, Pennsylvania.
He graduated in 1951 from Salem College in West Virginia and married Margaret Lucas on July 14, 1951 in Clarksburg, West Virginia.
Frank was a school teacher in the Charleroi Area School District and retired after 32 years of dedication to his students. He was a coach of many sports and later his family and friends nicknamed him ‘Coach’.
Frank loved hunting and fishing and hearing tales of the season. He will be greatly missed!
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Emily Duralia, Helen Duralia and Ethel Markazene.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Margaret (Lucas) Lucas; their eight children: daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Rick Carly of Eau Claire, Pa.; daughter, Stephanie Black of Eau Claire, Pa.; son, F r a n k Lucas, Charleroi,Pa.; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Gene Vincent of Ridgeland, South Carolina; daughter, Jane Corley of Pacific, Missouri; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Barry Nartowicz of Belle Vernon, Pa.; son and daughter-in-law, John and Lisa Lucas of Zelienople, Pa.; and son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Kelly Lucas, Perryopolis, Pa.; 15 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; his only brother, Paul and wife Margaret Lucas of Millsboro, Delaware.
Friends will be received on Monday, May 21, from 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m. in the CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME, 819 Fallowfield, Charleroi PA 15022 (724.483.5545) and on Tuesday, May 22, from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at which time a Catholic Blessing will be celebrated in the funeral home
Interment will follow in S a c r e d H e a r t Cemetery Carroll Township, Pa.
