State police said a Charleroi man wanted for allegedly burglarizing two homes in Perry Township has been captured.

Trooper Christian D. Lieberum said Chad Gibson, 26, was captured by Charleroi police on Sunday.

Gibson was subsequently charged before Magisterial District Judge Randy S. Abraham with two counts each of burglary and criminal conspiracy to commit burglary and a single count of criminal mischief, Lieberum said.

Lieberum said the burglaries occurred the afternoon of May 11 when Gibson broke into homes owned by Gregory Giovannelli and James Bohatch.

At the homes, Lieberum said Gibson stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry and a television.

Lieberum said that police were able to identify Gibson from tips and descriptions provided by area residents.

Gibson was placed in Fayette County Prison on $50,000 straight cash bond following his arraignment in the case.

He will face a preliminary hearing at a later date before Magisterial District Judge Dwight K. Shaner.

Lieberum said police are continuing to try and identify a second suspect known only as “Woody.”

He said anyone with information regarding the burglaries or the second suspect’s identity is asked to call police at 724-929-6262.
