Ramal Chisler, who pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the 2010 death of a Uniontown teenager, was sentenced to six to 12 years behind bars this afternoon in Fayette County Court.

Chisler, of Uniontown, shot Tiffany Moody, 17, at a Pershing Court apartment. He was 16 at the time, but charged as an adult.

Chisler apologized to a courtroom packed with his family and Moody’s, and said he hoped one day her family could forgive him.

Moody’s father, Leroy Moody, said that he doesn’t hate Chisler, but hates his actions, and said he doesn’t believe that Chisler was taking apart a gun that accidentally discharged.

After the hearing, members of Moody’s family embraced Linda Odom, Chisler’s grandmother, telling her that they hold no ill will toward her.
