A Uniontown man facing dozens of charges after police allege led officers on a chase that began in Pershing Court and ended in a field in Fairchance on April 26 has accepted a tentative plea agreement in the case.

Uniontown police Officer Matthew S. Painter said Alphonzo Pugh, 25, was charged before Magisterial District Judge Michael M. Metros with fleeing and eluding police, flight to avoid apprehension, possession with intent to deliver drugs, drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, 14 counts of recklessly endangering another person, six counts of criminal mischief, tampering with evidence, two counts of drunken driving, scattering rubbish and five traffic violations.

During a hearing this morning before Metros, Pugh and his attorney David W. Kaiser accepted a tentative plea offer from Fayette County Assistant District Attorney J.W. Eddy that calls for Pugh to serve nine to 24 months in state prison. Under the conditions of the deal, Metros dismissed the possession with intent to deliver charge and a single count of recklessly endangering another person.

Pugh then waived the remaining charges to court.
