Sheetz opening new store in Uniontown area

2 min read

Sheetz Convenience Restaurants will cut the ribbon on a new convenience restaurant in North Union Township today.

Louie Sheetz, executive vice president of marketing of the family owned corporation, will join local officials at the ribbon-cutting for the 5,900-square-foot store at 10:45 a.m. Sheetz currently operates 419 convenience restaurants across Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, Virginia and North Carolina.

The new Sheetz will create 40 to 45 new full- and part-time jobs, and add $3.5 million taxable property value to the township and Fayette County tax base.

“Our home base in Pennsylvania continues to be the foundation of our 32 new stores opening this year, as we develop our convenience restaurant concept,” Sheetz said. “This expansion helps us continue to grow and introduce new people to a unique experience in our stores.”

The ribbon-cutting will feature prizes, including $100 Sheetz gift cards to the first 50 in line. Sheetz has been a supporter of the Special Olympics for more than 20 years and will make a $2,500 donation as part of the opening festivities.

The new Sheetz will be open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and offer fresh food items like Sheetz’ signature “made-to-order” items that include Angus beef burgers, premium grilled chicken sandwiches, freshly made salads, French fries, onion rings and more.

The new store will also feature “M-T-Go!” and Sheetz Bakery lines of sandwiches, wraps, doughnuts and muffins, along with “Sheetz Bros. Coffeez,” a full-service espresso and smoothie bar staffed by a trained barista where customers can order handmade specialty coffee drinks including lattes, cappuccinos and mochas — hot, frozen or iced.

Established in 1952 in Altoona, Sheetz Inc. brings in more than $5 billion in annual revenue and has more than 15,000 employees. All Sheetz convenience restaurants are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
