Betty A. (Swaney) Bowlen, age 91, Fairchance, Pa., passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2012
She was born June 29, 1920 in Uniontown, Pa.
Betty was a Protestant by faith.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Ewing Swaney and Laura (Pastorous) Swaney; husband, James Enoch Bowlen in 1991; grandson, Wesley Fisher; two sisters, Ruth E. Swaney and Thelma Britt; brother, Clarence Swaney; and son-in-law, Joseph Petraglia.
Surviving are her loving family: two daughters, Thelma Petraglia, Gainesville, Virginia and Barbara Fisher and her husband Marvin Fisher of Fairchance, Pa.; a grandson, Michael Spaw and wife Julia of Linden, Virginia; four great grandchildren and four great great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., on Monday, May 28, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, May 29, 2012 until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Reverend Paul Lesher officiating.
Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park Brownfield, Pa.
The family would like to thank Terry Rahm and the staff of Fairfield’s Liberty Hall Personal Care Home for all of their care for Betty while she was a resident there.
