A Uniontown man is facing charges after police allege he attempted to use his car to run over a bicyclist in Uniontown on Monday afternoon.

Uniontown police Officer Jeremy Schult said Michael Henry Cmos, 33, was charged with two counts each of aggravated assault and simple assault, as well as single counts of recklessly endangering another person and three traffic-related charges.

Schult said the incident occurred at 5:02 p.m. when Cmos drove his car into a bicycle being ridden by Danny Beck, no address available, on West Kerr Street.

Schult said through his investigation, he learned that Beck and Kayla Wilson, no address available, had gotten into an argument prior to the incident and that Wilson had sent a message to Cmos asking him to pick her up.

Cmos told police that he had only intended to intimidate Beck but admitted to running over Beck’s bicycle. Schult said Beck told police that he was forced to jump from the bike to avoid being struck by Cmos’ car.

Schult said that Beck’s bike was significantly damaged as a result of the incident.

Cmos was placed in Fayette County Prison on 10 percent of $2,500 cash bond.

He will face a preliminary hearing at 1:30 p.m. June 12 before Magisterial District Judge Michael M. Metros.
