State police said they have charged a Masontown man with homicide by vehicle for a November vehicle crash that eventually resulted in the death of the man’s sister.

Police amended charges filed against James A. Farrier, 51, today before Magisterial District Judge Joseph M. George Jr. to include a count of homicide by vehicle for his role in the death of Crystal D. Farrier.

The 28-year-old Ronco woman suffered brain injuries when a car driven by her brother and a vehicle driven by Donna Wallace of Fairbank collided on New Salem Road in Menallen Township shortly before 1 p.m. on Nov. 2.

Crystal Farrier was in a coma for more than two months before she died in Uniontown Hospital in mid-January.
