BULLSKIN TWP. — State police are investigating the theft of more than $8,000 from a trucking business that was stolen through a virus contained in an email.

State police Trooper Stefani Plume, public information officer, said a hacker placed a Trojan virus through spam email onto a computer at Pleasant Trucking, Inc.

Police said the thief used this information to cash five checks totaling more than $8,000 in different states.
