Elizabeth Fekete, age 93, of Uniontown, Pa. and formerly of Brownsville, Pa., died peacefully on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at her home.

She was born on June 26, 1919 in Hutchinson, Pa., the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Vislosky Barovian.

She was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church of Brownsville, Pa.

She enjoyed being involved with the Perogi Ladies at the church.

She was affectionately known as Libby and loved baking goodies for family and friends, canning, gardening, bowling and working at the election polls in the Second Ward.

‘Grandma’ enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and especially her newest great-grandchild, Alex.

After relocating to Uniontown, she looked forward to her Saturday morning appointment at the beauty shop and telephone conversations with friends, especially Violet.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Michael, who died on October 4, 2010 and four brothers, Charles, Harry, John and Joseph.

Left to cherish her memories are her two children, Michael Stephen Fekete of Frederick, Md. and Karen Michele Nickman and her husband James of Uniontown, Pa.; five grandchildren, James Nickman of Uniontown, Pa., Dr. Julie Nickman Petrie and husband, Dr. Matt Petrie of Annapolis, Md., Jacob Nickman and fiancée Sandy Shinsky of Pittsburgh, Pa., Sergeant First Class Stephen Fekete and his wife Michelle -of Ft. Benning GA, Mackay O’Dell and husband, Tim, of Columbus, Ohio; five great-grandchildren, Damien Cain, Cable Lucas, Bryleigh Winter Fekete, all of Ft. Benning GA, Violet O’Dell of Columbus, Ohio, Alexander James Petrie of Annapolis, Md. and numerous nieces and nephews

Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park St. Brownsville PA on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m, where a Panachida Service will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. in St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Brownsville, Pa. with the Rev. Fr. Jerome Botsko as celebrant. Entombment will be in LaFayette Memorial Park.

A Parastas Service will be held on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

Donations may be made in her memory to St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Brownsville, Pa.
