Man accused of identity theft dies
A Grindstone man charged with identity theft for allegedly using the personal information of a deceased infant died on Tuesday.
Raymond Buck, 59, was scheduled to turn himself in for arraignment on the charges Wednesday morning with his attorney, Jeremy Davis.
Magisterial District Judge Wendy Dennis, who scheduled the arraignment, closed the case in the wake of Buck’s death.
State police alleged that Buck, of 6062 National Pike, used the personal information of a baby who died in 1953 to get a Pennsylvania identification card.
Trooper William E. Coddington alleged Buck used Wesley Thomas Glagola’s date of birth and Social Security number to get the identification — and indicated in court papers filed last week that Buck also had a driver’s license in his given name, using his own date of birth and Social Security number.
Police got involved after the state Department of Transportation’s Office of Risk Management requested an investigation into two operator license numbers where the department’s facial recognition software indicated a probable match between the two, according to the affidavit.
Buck had been charged with four counts of tampering with records and two counts each of identity theft and unsworn falsification.
