Critz to host information session for students
U.S. Rep. Mark S. Critz, D-Johnstown, will host an information session 6-8 p.m. Thursday in Johnstown for high school students interested in attending one of the military academies or Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) programs.
The event, to be held at the Holiday Inn, 250 Market St., will feature information sessions and short presentations from each of the military academies including the U.S. Naval, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine, Air Force and Army. Representations from the regional ROTC programs will also speak at the event.
“America’s military academies and ROTC programs provide our best and brightest young people with the opportunity to serve their country and further their educational goals,” said Critz. “Each year, many high school students approach my office with an interest in attending one of our military academies or ROTC programs, and I’m hopeful that through this free information session we can answer questions and further highlight the many educational and career benefits that these academies and programs have to offer.”
The event is free and all high school students and their parents are encouraged to attend.
