Candlelight vigil sheds light on fight for Ten Commandments monument

1 min read

CONNELLSVILLE – Hundreds of candles lit the sky tonight as people gathered to hold a candlelight vigil in what has become a continued effort to protest the removal of a Ten Commandments monument from school property.

The vigil was held at Connellsville Area Junior High School, the site of the contested monument, and hosted by the Fayette Patriots and Standing in the Gap.

“This is what we have to do,” said David Show, founder of the Fayette Patriots. “We have to stand up – come out to these kind of rallies and let the school district know that it’s not acceptable to have this monument moved. It’s not acceptable to have it covered. We got to let them know that.”
