Ray Eberhart Jr. ‘Fitty’ ‘Sonny’

Ray ‘Fitty’ ‘Sonny’ Eberhart Jr., age 75 years, of Smithfield, Pa., passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia.

He was born at Woodside, Nicholson Township, Fayette County, Pa., on May 28, 1936 son of the now late Raymond Eberhart Sr. and Margaret (Moldovan) Eberhart.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Mark Eberhart in 1982.

Ray was owner/ operator of Ray Eberhart Coal Company in Smithfield and had worked for many years in the coal industry having been a dozer operator for the Genovese Coal Company years ago.

Ray was a trucker and heavy equipment operator and served the community in a number of ways with his expertise, excavating for foundations for new homes, for waterlines and septic systems, and even transporting mobile homes for local residents.

Ray was a very dedicated NASCAR fan and an avid gardener.

Among his joys in life was taking care of his home and property with his loving wife, Faye.

He is survived by his wife, Faye (Cooley) Eberhart and one daughter, Marcie Weimer Parson and husband Rick; two grandchildren: Branden and Tara Albright of Uniontown, Pa. and Brittany Weimer at home.

Interment will follow in Mount M o r i a h B a p t i s t Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.
