Man charged with shooting at woman, child
A Lemont Furnace man was charged with two counts of aggravated assault after he allegedly fired two shots at his girlfriend and her daughter Friday.
Chad William Lowry, 25, of 5 Kira Drive was also charged with three counts of recklessly endangering another person by state police Trooper James A. Pierce.
Police said that around 2 p.m., Lowery and his girlfriend, Gloria Knopsnider, got into a fight at their home. When Gloria Knopsnider tried to leave the home with her 2-year-old daughter and her mother, Wanda Knopsnider, Lowry grabbed a blot action rifle, Pierce said.
He allegedly fired one round from the rifle at Gloria Knopsnider and the child, Pierce said. That round hit a vehicle, police alleged.
Police took him into custody and charged him in the alleged incident.
