The 9/11 memorial service and Awake America prayer gathering mixed patriotism and prayers Tuesday afternoon on the front steps of the Fayette County Courthouse in downtown Uniontown.

“We’re here to pray for you, your city and our nation,” said the Rev. Margaret Frey, of Mountaintop Faith Ministries in Westmoreland Counties, who served as host for the noontime service, now in its fifth year. “…Thank you for being here to remember those who have fought for our freedom.”
