Kenneth W. Jeffries, age 69, of Uniontown, Pa. passed away Monday, September 10, 2012 i n U P M C Presbyterian Hospital.

H e w a s b o r n i n Uniontown, Pa. on November 20, 1942 the son of Paul Jeffries and Margaret (Gorham) Jeffries.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Pauline (Smith) Jeffries, mother-in-law, Catherine Hixson, a brother, Paul ‘Sonny’ Jeffries, Jr. and his granddaughter, Mary Jeffries.

Ken graduated from Uniontown High School with the class of 1960. After graduation he served in the United States Air Force. He worked as a custodian for Uniontown Area School District for over 32 years. He was a member of Third Presbyterian Church, John Knox Bible Class, Dart ball Team, Christian Men’s Breakfast, Church Choir and was Sunday School Superintendent. He was very active with the Boy Scouts of America for 35 years. He was Cub Master of Cub Scout Pack 608.

Ken was active in the Civil Defense, American Legion No. 51, and Third Presbyterian Church Bowling League and was on the Uniontown High School 1960 Reunion Committee.

Left to cherish Ken’s memory is his beloved wife, Benita Jeffries; sons: Kenneth W. Jeffries, Jr., Paul D. Jeffries, and Keith J. Jeffries and wife Elizabeth, all of Uniontown, Pa.; Beloved grandchildren: Nina, Jesse, Jack and Anna; brother, Allison Jeffries and wife Nancy of Uniontown; sister Annabelle Dzurnak and Ed Krol of Uniontown; brothers-in-laws: Bill Hixson, of Uniontown, George Hixson and wife Francis of Michigan and Edwin Hixson and wife Shirley of Virginia; sister-in-law, Gail Hixson of Uniontown and many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, PA where family and friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m.and 7 to 9 p.m and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Visitation will continue on Saturday, September 15, 2012 in THIRD PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., followed by a service celebrating Ken’s life at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Chris Enoch officiating. Military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 51.

Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.

John Knox Bible Class will hold a service Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Grace Bible Class will hold a service Friday at 2:30 p.m.

Boy Scouts of America will hold a service Friday at 7:30 p.m.
