Perry council awards termite contract
PERRYOPOLIS — Borough council this week awarded a $2,620 contract to eradicate termites from two historic buildings, with the parks and recreation authority to split the cost.
Council unanimously approved the contract to Vermin Control of Uniontown after reviewing four bids for chemical treatment and bait systems ranging between $2,000 and $2,800 presented last month by Norene Halvonik, parks and recreation authority member.
Halvonik requested the borough pay for the Mary Fuller Frazier House and the parks and recreation authority would pay for the old state bank building.
The bids applied to 10 historic buildings infested with termites located in a wooded area of Sampey Park and the George Washington Grist Mill.
