Julia (Balsega) Perkosky, age 95, of Point Marion, Pa., passed away quietly Sunday, September 16, 2012 at the home of her daughter in Masontown, Pa., where she had been lovingly cared for the last 18 months.

Born June 23, 1917 in Isabella, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Sebastian and Anna (Prych) Balsega.

She was a member of Saint Hubert Roman Catholic Church in Point Marion.

Surviving are her two children: Richard Perkosky of Washington, D.C., and Rita Solomon and her husband, Judge Gerald R. Solomon of Masontown, Pa.; grandsons: Gerald R. Solomon II and George R. Solomon both of Masontown; one great-granddaughter, Sophia Juliette Rose Solomon; two sisters: Catherine Pecjak of California state and Rose Cox of Virginia; two brothers: John Gacek of Virginia and Walter Gacek of Greensboro, Pa.; two cousins: Ron Wydra and Rev. Father Joseph Sredzinski; a number of loving nieces and nephews; and by four very special friends and neighbors: Julia Solomon, Herschel and Doris Gibson, Josephine Stevulak.

Deceased is her husband of 64 years, Chester Perkosky, who died April 16, 2006; a sister, Mary Skoda; brothers, Joseph, Frank and Mike Balsega and Stanley Gacek.

Friends are invited to join the family for a Funeral Mass in SAINT HUBERT ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, Sadler Street, Point Marion, Pa., on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Father Andrew Kawecki as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in Wolf’s Cemetery, Dilliner, Pa.

Arrangements are in the care of the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Julia’s memory be offered to Saint Hubert Roman Catholic Church, All Saints Regional School or the American Heart Association. www.herod-rishel.com
