Corine ‘Betty’ McCann Jenkins

Corine ‘Betty’ McCann Jenkins, age 83, of Point Marion passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 in the Uniontown Hospital.

She was born March 7, 1929 in Masontown, Pa., daughter of Wallace H. McCann and Barbara Ewart McCann.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Jenkins; two sisters, Barbara Bohan and Helen McCartney and one brother, Robert McCann.

Betty had worked for Whyel Coal Company for 18 years as a weights and measures operator.

Betty was a very active member of Redeemed Baptist Church of Lake Lynn.

Betty was a loving grandmother who enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and church family.

She is survived by her son, French Jenkins and wife, Sandy, of Lake Lynn; four grandchildren, French C. Jenkins, Nicole Brown and husband, Patrick, Jamie Jenkins and Luke Jenkins; two great – grandchildren, Gunnar French Jenkins and Jayden Brown; two sisters, Margaret Avery of Masontown, Mary Lou Kantes of Independence, W. Va. and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the LOUIS E. RUDOLPH FUNERAL HOME, Thomas B. Rudolph, Funeral Director and Supervisor, 15 Main St., Point Marion on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday in the REDEEMED BAPTIST CHURCH from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of service, with her son, Pastor French Jenkins officiating.

Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion.
