Leonard M. Wojcik
Leonard M. Wojcik, age 84, Perryopolis, Pa., passed away Friday, September 21, 2012.
He was born in Donora, Washington County, Pa., on November 6, 1927 the son of Leon and Antonia Wojcik.
Leonard was a member of Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church where he also served as an Usher and Altar Server. He was also a member of The Holy Name Society, The Knights of Columbus and was a 3rd Degree Knight, Veterans of Foreign Wars Gold Star Post 7023 and American Legion Post 725 all of Perryopolis, Pa.
Leonard was also a proud member of the Honor Guard For Fallen Veterans.
He was a proud Veteran who served in World War II as a Corporal in the Rangers.
He retired from United States Steel.
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents; as well as his first wife, Ann Wojcik; and a brother, Chester Zamber.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Margaret Julia (Tobias) Wojcik; a step daughter, Helen O’Connor and husband Lawrence of Allison Park, Pa.; one daughter, Alicia Williams and her husband Kevin of Maryland; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren; two brothers: Joseph Wojcik and his wife Margaret of Donora, Pa., and Edwin Zamber of Indiana state; a sister, Agnes Connolly of New York state; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAl HOME INC., 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, Pa., today and monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. where a Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, September 25th, at 9:30 a.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Perryopolis, Pa., with Rev. Father Anthony W. Ditto as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in S a c r e d H e a r t Cemetery Monongahela, Pa.
Graveside Military Rites will be accorded by Veterans of Foreign Wars Gold Star Post 7023 and American Legion Post 725 both of Perryopolis.
Wake Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Monday.
The Knights of Columbus will conduct a Service in the Funeral Home on Monday evening at 7 p.m.
