Bernadine Suzanne Mudry, 67, California, Pa., died after a lengthy illness on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the Monongahela Valley Hospital.

She was born August 1, 1944 in Smallwood, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late John Michael Mudry and Catherine (Hadbavna) Mudry.

Ms. Mudry was a 1962 graduate of California Community High School. She began her career as a salesclerk at the Rueben Paint Store, and later became the owner of Gift-A-Rama, California, Pa. She was employed as the California Borough secretary for many years. Ms. Mudry was a member of the PA Local Governmental Secretaries Association.

Ms. Mudry is survived by two sisters, Catherine Powell (Bert) of California, Pa. and Mildred Bates of Alhambra, CA and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are three brothers, John Mudry, Paul Mudry and Michael Mudry, who died in infancy, and five sisters, Anna Ermlich, Mary Sotak, Helen Tonini, Margaret Sungala and Ethel Carini.

There will be no visitation or memorial service by Ms. Mudry’s request. Donations may be given to the California Area Public Library in her memory at 100 Wood Street, California, PA 15419.

Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
